Chaplets, Prayer Ropes, and Expressions of Faith
Chaplets are vocal prayers that often use a set of beads to help keep track of the prayers said. As personal devotions, they can be prayed individually or in groups. There are a number of different chaplets, the Rosary and the Divine Mercy Chaplet being the most well known. Some chaplets are offered as petitions for intercessions by particular Saints or accompany novenas, while others are meant to deepen our life of faith and to receive the grace of greater surrender to the heart of God.
Chaplets are based on the repetition of certain prayers, namely the Our Father (The Lord's Prayer), the Hail Mary, and the Glory Be, with other prayers in between. While such vocal prayers have the potential to become "boring" and rote, when the heart and mind are focused on and united with the words, they can become gateways to more intimate mental prayer and deeper meditative prayer.
When blessed, chaplets become "sacramentals" or “sacred signs which bear a resemblance to the sacraments. They signify effects, particularly of a spiritual nature, which are obtained through the intercession of the Church. By them, [the faithful] are disposed to receive the chief effect of the sacraments, and various occasions in life are rendered holy” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, No. 1667).
are made with quality materials that also allow them to be affordable. We use glass, Swarovski crystal, gemstone, and metal beads, along with 24-gauge wrapping wire, 49-strand beading wire, and other jewelry findings to produce beautiful, yet practical chaplets to assist you in your prayer. Each chaplet comes with a laminated prayer card and a carrying pouch.
We also make hand-tied Orthodox prayer ropes with satin nylon cord to accompany the recitation of the Jesus Prayer. Or you may be interested in our beaded medal necklaces.
